Google Earth Project

This is a 4 step journey of one of my family members from the 1800's. This isnt any where near all of the information I have to say about him, but I will let your imagination run with this one! I don't want to give it away so check it out!

I think this follows NETS standard because it allows the students to create thier own journey. It is all interactive. I love this project and had so much fun doing it. I know my students would love this especially if it involves the sylabus.

Video

This was a fun project. I think that my students would enjoy doing something like this too. It is an easy and fast way to get their point acorss and still have fun. I love also sharing my knowlegde of baking and cooking for everyone to see!
I think that by creating a video it revolves around all of the NETS standards because we as teachers would be allowing creativity but on a certain topic. I will definatly use this in the future.

Long Island is an Island located in the north eastern United States. It is bordered by the East River, The Long Island Sound, and the Atlantic Ocean.

 

Climate: Varies, Cold Winters, Humid SummersLong Island enjoys a temperate climate. Winters are cold, and summers are warm and humid.

The climate on Long Island has all four seasons. Hot in the summer, Cold in the Winter and Varies in the Spring and Fall. 

 

History: Farming, whaling, wine vineyards, Light house, World war 2 levit houses used in GI Bill for soliders comming home.  

 

Economy: Varies (upper class, middle class, working class)

 

Transportation: Trains, boats, ferry, cars, planes 

 

Leisure and recreation: Beach, Parks, Golf, movies, sports arenas, sky diving, public pools, Museums, bike paths, fishing, restaurants, bars, pubs, pool halls, 

Long Island is very much known for the Beaches on the south shore.

 

Celebrities: Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Brad Pit, Angelina Jolie, Natalie Portman, Lindsay Lohan, Billy Joel, Christie Brinkley, Baldwin Brothers, Billy Crystal, Howard Stern, Jerry Seinfeld and more!
